Brighton, Sussex.
C/U of several small jars standing on a table. They have small pieces of coloured glass in them. M/S of an elderly man who picks out pieces of tiny glass and places them on an intricate design made of gilded wire held between two glass sheets. The man is Frank Landrum who has invented this new glass craft. C/U of Mr Landrum as he works on his design. The narrator describes how the process works as we watch him at work. Various C/Us of the design taking shape and of the craftsman.
His work of art is displayed - it is a coat of arms featuring a lion and a unicorn - a royal crest? Paperwork mentions Sutton Coldfield but it isn’t clear if that relates to this crest. Another panel is shown which represents a playing card - the King of Hearts. According to the paperwork this represents Sir Winston Churchill - doesn’t look much like him to me! One of his designs has been accepted by Her Majesty the Queen.
Note: newspaper cuttings on file.
