London’s Famous Clubs And Cabarets No. 3 (1926)

The Metropole “Midnight Follies“ is the featured club in this story. Jay Whidden’s melody makers lure the dancers on. We see couples dancing and a C/U of a man playing a violin. More shots of people on the dance floor and sitting at tables talking. We then visit “Follyland:“ A group of chorus girls in night wear do a high kick routine. More chorus girls dance do high kicks with a man in a suit. “Waiting for You“ is the name of the routine. Bobby Howes and Tim O’Connor perform a comedy skit called “The Waiter and the Guest“ - shot missing. Vera performs high kicks, cartwheels and the splits in slow motion. Dancers perform “Pompadour“ in costumes reminiscent of the days of Marie Antoinette. Tex McLeod spins a lasso whilst wearing a suit. We see his act a second time in slow motion. Estelle Brody and Rupert Rogers perform - shot missing. Tim O’Connor performs an acrobatic comedy dance. Elsie Percival does an impression of Hal Sherman - chorus girls wave in the background.
