Jerry The Troublesome Tyke - Jerry Done Again (1926)

Animation featuring Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. A . production. C/U of a piece of paper. The animators’ hands are in shot as he pours a drop of ink onto the paper. This ink spot moves and grows until it forms our friend Jerry in silhouette. He scratches his head and says: “If I had a banjo now I’d look a real nigger minstrel.“ The animator drops another ink spot on the page which moves around Jerry, making circles in the air around him. Jerry jumps up and grabs on to it and is spun around. The ink eventually makes the shape of a banjo and Jerry grabs it and starts strumming. the words “plink plonk plunk“ are animated around him. The animator pierces Jerry’s foot with a pin and the black ink drains from him so that he is no longer in silhouette. He sings “Show me the way to go home“ (the words appear on screen) and dances a little bit with some musical notes.
