Floods In Watsonville, California Aka United States Of America (1938)

Soundtrack is currently missing for this item. California, United States of America. Various shots show the flooding of the small town of Watsonville; people stand at the doors of their shops and homes as the water flows past them; cars and trucks drive through the flooded streets. At San Francisco’s Graveyards of Ships we see an enormous whale that has been washed up onto the beach in front of an old wrecked ship. Men stand along the length of the whale to show how gigantic it is; a man hammers at the mouth of the whale - yuk. Elsewhere in California we see the effects of a winter gale that swept from San Francisco to Sacramento. Trees torn up by their roots hang over roads and sidewalks; others have crashed into the roof of a house and over a car. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
