The Maker Up (1926)

Quick-change studies of Will Fyffe the Character Comedian. Some curtains are moved apart to reveal Will’s dresser combing one of his wigs which is on a stand on Will’s dressing table. Will comes into the room and we see him in C/U wearing a hat and overcoat. The dresser takes his hat and gloves. “I’m going to put my “94“ make-up on first, said Will.“ reads an intertitle. C/U of Will’s face as he makes up. He applies false eyebrows, and a fake nose which seems to be made of a putty like substance. The curtains close over the scene. “But, a few minutes later Will is rushing back again for another character - this time, the gentleman who’s had about 94...“ Will rushes in and takes off his “old man“ disguise. His dresser helps him to take off one outfit and put on another. He puts on a wig and a bowler hat and turns to face the camera. C/U of him putting a pipe into his mouth and lighting it. He pulls some funny faces and acts drunk. Was item in Pathe Pictorial issue number 420. FILM ID
