Eve At The Races In France (1926)

France. Crowded streets of Paris with l’Arc de Triomphe in the background. Much traffic as people make their way to the race course. A well dressed woman stands posing by a car. She climbs in. Two women who are dressed alike hold small dogs up to the camera - could be the Dolly Sisters? They hold the dogs’ paws and wave them at the camera. High angle long shot of the horse parade at the beginning of the races. L/S of the jockeys being led around the paddock. Various shots of well dressed women smiling and posing for the camera. “Abdel Krim may have surrendered, but the short skirt still holds its own.“ A woman poses for the camera and takes her coat off. More women pose - they seem to be ordinary women rather than models. “There was a race, of course, but compared with the fashions, it seemed very unimportant and far off!“ L/S of the race - very difficult to see.
