An Dro, A Breton Dance

An dro or en dro (Breton: “The Turn“) is a Breton folk dance in 4/4. This song is an improvised collection of melodies used in the traditional style of the An Dro dance. The music captured my interest as I was studying the Celtic musical forms for the Celtic Waters CD. I am using a new addition of foot percussion (Beat Root) and the Freeze pedal for sustain. I mix the foot drum very subtly for a more driving effect. I occasionally use the Freeze to add a drone effect. Everything is still performed and impr
