Fwd from @awaken_dragon 🇺🇸🇯🇵 As you most likely heard, on August 8, there was a terrible fire in Hawaii, which, according to the latest data, claimed the lives of 99 people. In the US, it is called the deadliest in 100 years. Due to the fire, a huge amount of the island’s infrastructure was burned. As Frida Kahlo rightly noted, this terrible natural disaster can be used as an excuse to build more American military facilities on the burned land, because this territory is one of the main strongholds of the projection of American military power in the Pacific Ocean. In addition, Hawaii, in the event of an open conflict in the Taiwan Strait, will be a key location for US troops that will participate in the defense of Taiwan. The implementation of such a scenario will be beneficial not only to the States, but also, for example, Japan. More US military bases in the region = more security guarantees for Tokyo. In Japan, by the way, they are also worried about the tragedy. The Japanese media published a huge number of articles on this issue, pointing to the strong friendship between the island nation and the American state. And although there are no Japanese military bases in Hawaii, the islands in the Pacific Ocean are the most popular tourist destination among the Japanese. In addition, Japan is investing heavily in the state’s economy, as well as expanding its business presence there. Источник: Rybar in English
