Chopin / Alexander Slobodyanik, 1972: Etudes, Op. 25, Nos. 11 and 12

The late Ukrainian pianist Alexander Slobodyanik (1942-2008), in his late 20s at the time of this live recording, performs the final two etudes from Chopin’s Op. 25. From the extremely rare LP you see above, recorded in what was then the USSR by Melodiya and distributed abroad under the Angel label, catalogue number SR-40205. This recording was released by Angel in 1972; it is possible that the recording was made earlier than that.
