Liszt -- Sonata in B Minor - Aleksander Slobodyanik -- 1971

Aleksander Slobodyanik (1941-2008) plays the Liszt sonata in B minor in this 1971 Melodiya recording. It was later issued in the United States on the Columbia label (M-33119, 1974). He went on to record for EMI/Angel the complete Chopin Etudes, Sonata no. 3, Polonaise no. 6 and other shorter works. He also recorded some Schumann works which included the Fantasie in C, Papillons, and Kinderszenen, This Ukrainian pianist died tragically from meningitis in 2008. R. B. Prior
