Iceland Volcano Updates | 4th Eruption in 4 Months!

Hello everybody! The 4th eruption from the Svartsengi system in Iceland started on March 16th at 8:23 PM local time. This is the most powerful eruption we’ve had yet in the ongoing eruptive period on the peninsula which has resulted in spectacular lava fountains on a roughly 4km long fissure. The height of the fountains is greater than 100m over large parts of the fissure. The precursor for this eruption, that is, the visible increase in earthquake activity, was basically nonexistent as just one minute after our experts warned of a “possible“ magma intrusion, the eruption started. The initial stages were also spectacular and were captured by the live-stream cameras in the area.
