Hizballah retaliates by striking key military bases in Israel, with Jon Elmer

Jon Elmer shares his analysis of Hizballah’s retaliatory strike on key military bases in Israel. On Sunday, Hizballah carried out a significant drone and missile attack against military and intelligence targets in Israel, in retaliation for Tel Aviv’s assassination last month of Fuad Shukr, a senior commander in the Lebanese resistance organization. Israel tried to spin the attack as a failure, and claimed that it detected and preempted a much bigger Hizballah attack by launching a series of airstrikes. This is a segment from The Electronic Intifada’s day 327 livestream. Ali Abunimah, Nora Barrows-Friedman, Jon Elmer and Asa Winstanley were joined by Steven Salaita, a professor of English and comparative literature at the American University of Cairo.
