Just Potential - Alec Briggs

Just potential Alex McArthur asked me if I wanted to shoot something around National Crit Champs, I was a bit hesitant as I was like “What if I don’t win.” But then I remembered when I ran a talk for youths about racing, training etc. We talked about losing and learning from it. One of the kid’s parents said to me, “yeah but you win all the time” to which I replied “nah, I’ve had more losses than wins, the wins are just what you see on social media.” That comment hit me a bit. I wish those kids knew I was probably worse than all of them at bikes when I was their age, made more mistakes, had less of a clue, lost. For me the losses make the wins, once you work out how to learn from them (thanks Scott Bugden). So with that in mind I hope you enjoy this honest journey in sport. I’d like to thank Alex McArthur for doing an amazing job throughout this entire project. He just left me to it and captured what he needed to without interrupting. Mad that this is his first film, shot, directed, edited all on his own.
