The Difference Between a Wolf and a Dog! Part 2 The biggest difference between a wolf and a dog is their independence. Our dog Bob needs me to do everything for him. I need to give him food, water, and shelter. With our wolf Honey, she does it herself. If she wants food, she opens the refrigerator and gets it. If she wants water, she attempts the faucet or opens the toilet lid. She, of course, has my house, but she also has a big den outside for shelter. She tries to do absolutely everything herself. When she was 5 or 6 months, that independent streak really hit.
