Please contact me at: cdejour@ The piece is originally written for the Harpsichord, but here in an arrangement for solo guitar made by Christophe Dejour. Fantasia: Fugue: Bach probably composed it during his time in Köthen from 1717 to 1723. The piece was already regarded as a unique masterpiece during his lifetime. It is now often played on piano. It´s not the first time the work has been transcribed for the guitar but this is my modest attempt. The work has a.o. also been transcribed for viola solo by Zoltán Kodály in 1950 and Busoni made two transcriptions for both solo piano and cello and piano, which are catalogued as BV B 31 and 38, respectively.
