Death of Otello (Morte di Otello) Francesco Tamagno G&T 1904 Opera Disc

Here is the greatest Dynamic Opera Tenor of his Time Francesco Tamagno (1850-1905), singing Morte di Otello from Verdi’s Opera Otello. Tamagno was chosen by Verdi to sing the lead in the premier of his Opera Otello in 1877, much the rave reviews of the Public at that time. Here on a rare Pirated Opera Disc is Tamagno singing that selection complete with the “Death Rattle“ at the very end of the recording. These Opera Disc Pirated records were ruled illegal to distribute and confiscated by the Courts, in a ruling favorable to the Victor Talking Machine Co. which had the exclusive rights to the the masters and records made by Tamagno.
