Targeting the Ferocious African Tiger Fish at Lake Jozini in KZN (Pongola Game Reserve)
WHAT IS QUICK CAST?
A series of real-time fishing videos.
We don’t travel and fish for several days or hours on end to get a single video that is a couple of minutes long like many others. We believe in real-time fishing and on point videos showcasing different spots, what you can target there, and how.
On this trip Lionel fished for -30 minutes on day one, -25 minutes on day 2 and the fishing session is non-stop 😉
As always upon entering the reserve we were greeted with some of Africa’s most beautiful and wild Giraffe. The weather didn’t play the part though and we had to fish in-between the passing showers and heavy winds. The fish didn’t mind and we were ON DAD from the word go, from bait fishing with chicken liver to throwing the famous Sensation SD4 Tiger lure.
At times our minuet pieces of bait were literally in for seconds before they could get hit, the fish was wild and hungry.
Some big fish around and in-between the smallies as well #GoFish
Both sessions were very productive and Lionel lost count of the fish hooked and landed in this short space of time before he could head off.
What worked for us was fishing along the edges/shallows with a weightless rig using the Linx range of Powerplus hooks which are ideal (thin, strong and cutting point), and the Eagle Claw Trokar bass hooks.
A short piece of Sensations Black Tiger steel knotted to a piece of fluorocarbon.
