Frederick Chopin, Nocturne C# moll, arrangement for pedal harp, balalaika and a cat
Ok, I must confess this one was not intended quite that way.
I wanted to play Chopin’s Nocturne C# moll on the harp, because it’s incredibly beautiful. Chopin wanted it full of trills. Harps cannot trill. Looking for a solution, I realized that there is an instrument that all but specializes in trills and got hold of a balalaika. I have never laid my hands on this wonder before, but she is absolutely beautiful - very light, very obedient, and her logic is that of a guitar without the top three strings.
Balalaika was supposed to be the star of this project - however, as I started recording, another participant showed up and took the cake.
So here goes.
