Without community-focused approaches that strike the right balance, we will fail to protect the species we need to survive. The system we created as humanity also creates poverty. And poverty puts people into situations they don’t want to be in. It pushes them towards doing things, they don’t want to do, like poaching. If we really want big change to happen, we need to bring ocean conservation, nature protection, animal and human rights to the same level. We need to stop pressuring people into poverty to be on the right path, protecting animals and mostly endangered species.
