GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Flames () | Guentzel Continues Point Streak

The last time the puck dropped between the Penguins and the Flames, things did not go well for Pittsburgh. Calgary blanked the black and gold at PPG Paints Arena. The Penguins began their Western Canada trip with a singular goal: find a way to get a puck or two past the team that stymied them in the Steel City. After the opening period came and went without a goal, Lucic got Calgary on the board first, netting his sixth of the year. The Penguins would work hard to keep up the pressure, eventually breaking through with a beautiful deflection out of midair by Jake Guentzel on the power play. Guentzel now has points in ten consecutive games, which is the league’s longest active point streak. Throughout the whole of regulation, Tristan Jarry would stand tall, stopping 29 of 30 shots. He would need to continue that play into overtime... and he did. Jarry stopped both shots he faced in extra time, including a spectacular glove save near the end of OT.
