Antonio Caldara (1670 - 1736) was an Italian composer of the late Baroque period. Although now known chiefly as a composer of dramatic works, Calara also wrote a great deal of church music, including this stand-alone setting of the Dies Irae text traditionally used as the sequence of a Requiem Mass. Performed by the Czech Philharmonic Chorus of Brno and the Czech Chamber Soloists as conducted by Petr Fiala.
