At the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, at the ladies short program of the team event, Medvedeva placed first with a record score of , a personal best and world record for ladies’ short program. Medvedeva’s 10 points for the first place in the ladies’ short program helped Team Russia to win the silver medal in the team event. In the singles competition, Medvedeva placed second in the short program with a score of , breaking another world record before it was surpassed by her teammate, Alina Zagitova.
