Original Wording from:
Work - Elegiae, Book I,X

[Original in Latin]
An nihil ille miser meruit, nos ad mala nostra?
Vertimus, in saevas quod dedit ille feras?
[Translation to English]
Or was the poor wretch blameless?
Do we turn against ourselves the blade intended for wild beasts?
I believe that the lyrics trace parallels to the questioning of Spyro’s actual role in his world, and what was the role of Malefor himself. Malefor turned himself against the world, and tried to convince Spyro that his destiny is unite with Malefor, both destined to destroy the world and rebuild it in their own image.
