The tablet weighs just over 1.5 lbs. and is 0.4“ thick (Intel Atom model 5130) or 0.6“ thick (Intel Core-i5 7130 model). We look at the Intel Atom Bay Trail model with the quad core Z3770 CPU with Turbo Boost to . The tablet runs full Windows 8.1 32 bit with 2 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of eMMC storage (Core i-3 and i5 models have 128 or 256 gig SSDs). The tablet has a wide color gamut display that’s very bright, dual band WiFi , Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. 3G/4G is optional. The Venue is one of the very few tablets with a removable battery. We review it with the optional keyboard dock that adds a secondary battery and the Synaptics digital pen. Prices start at $499 for the Atom model and the Core i5 model is $899. The keyboard, pen and dock accessories are sold separately.
