Old Japanese military song or “kamikaze song“ with an authentic film material from the year 1945. During World War II, soldiers of the same corps called themselves “douki no sakura“ (Cherry blossoms of the same class/period), implying (and, perhaps, convincing themselves) that they were happy to fall and die for their country and their loved ones.
Note: regardless of this video I’m a pacifist myself. I am just interested in the history and also in this phenomenon. I love Japan, but in my opinion a war is the greatest insanity on earth. When the men are fighting, children and women and elderly will suffer... That’s how it always goes. So, peace to everyone - make love, not war! (^_^)
