Long psychiatric interviews are especially helpful to realize the importance of getting the longitudinal story. Subconsciously, by spending 2-3 hours in the interviews with our patients, we have a lesser tendency to judge them because those times spent listening really allowed ourselves to be put in their shoes and see things from our patients’ perspectives.
