He was a member of the Italian Communist Party, and took a radical, philosophically informed approach to architectural history. He is often associated with the Italian philosopher, Massimo Cacciari. Pippo Ciorra is an Italian historian, Professor of Design and Theory at the University of Camerino, Chair of Doctoral Studies at IUAV, and curator of architecture at Rome’s MAXXI Museum. Luisa Lorenza Corna is design historian and a Leverhulme postdoctoral researcher at Birkbeck College, University of London She wrote her PhD on Manfredo Tafuri.
