Liszt, ’La prédication aux oiseaux’ played by Wilhelm Kempff

Liszt composed his two Franciscan Legends in 1863. The first of the two evokes Liszt’s ’patron saint’, St Francis of Assisi talking to birds. Kempff selected his Liszt repertoire wisely and this piece seems especially tailored to the pianist’s strengths. Kempff made this recording in 1975 when he was 80.
