“Imagine“ Easy Guitar Tutorial - John Lennon | Simple Chords & Strumming

In this lesson I show you how to play John Lennon’s classic “Imagine.“ The first part of this lesson uses just 2 chords - it’s like an easy 2 chord song - and is a good place to start for a beginner guitarist. ► Grab your copy of my FREE E-BOOK! ► Need help with the basic chords and strumming? My beginner guitar course will help you build a solid foundation one step at a time: The lesson begins with 2 simple chord shapes: C and F. I show you a tip for easily switching between those 2 chords and then we practice strumming them, together. After that, we learn a simple strumming pattern that copies the “feel“ of the original piano part that Lennon plays on the recording. We apply this to the chord progression and play it together, about half as fast as the original recording (nice and slow to give you time to work it out :) At this point, if you’re just starting to play guitar, it would be wise to review and then move on to another simple 2 or 3 chord song. Otherwise, we move on and learn some more chord shapes that we’ll need for the pre-chorus: Dm, G, Dm/C, G/B. They’re not as hard as they seem and with a bit of work you’ll get them down - just be sure to pay attention to the fingering on the Dm and Dm/C chords! We finally learn the chorus, which requires the E chord, and that’s it! I hope you enjoy the lesson and I’ll see you soon! James ---
