V-Ray | DIAMOND SHADER Photorealistic | Refractive Materials, Dispersion & Abbe, Issues & Solutions

In this tutorial you will learn how to create a photorealistic Diamond Shader for V-Ray to use for example in product rendering, advertisment and so on. We will discover the basics such as what kind of geometry is required and what issues you would need to fix. I will then show you my preferred way how to create an easy to control render setup for a Diamond Shader and explain each step. We will discover the basics of refractive materials, how to choose the correct Index of Reraction (IOR), what is Dispersion and how to keep the rendertime in check. I am using 3ds Max and V-Ray 5 in this demo but you can also use the same techniques for older versions such as V-Ray NEXT and V-Ray 3. Chapters:
