Learning to forgive my alcoholic father

I grew up thinking it was ok to see your father walk away and not look back.I grew up thinking men that cry are cowards because it shows weakness. Today I open up about a sensitive topic to me, my father. I am stronger if you may ask, of course. But it hurts that my own father chooses alcohol before his own sons.
