Eddie Vedder and the Manhandling Fan

Here’s another funny story about Eddie Vedder: During a 1992 concert in Dallas, while performing the song “Porch,“ Eddie Vedder climbed up onto a lighting rig and then leaped off of it, right into the crowd. The crowd carried him, but one overzealous fan decided to grab him by the hair for a keepsake. Vedder, not one to take being manhandled easily, started pummeling the fan with his fists, before being pulled back to the stage by security. After the show, Vedder wrote a note to the fan, saying, “Thanks for the entertainment, Eddie V.“ and gave it to him. The fan was taken aback and thought that Eddie would be angry, but the note showed him how highly the band appreciated their fans. This story shows Vedder’s strong personality and his ability to handle unexpected situations with humor and grace. It also demonstrates his deep respect for his fans and his willingness to show his appreciation for them in creative and heartfelt ways. #daveabbruzzese #srock
