Ukraine Kills 540 Russian Troops, Sumy Shelled 83 Times, Putin Orders Crackdown On Spies & Traitors

Sumy Oblast Governor Dmytro Zhyvytsky said Russian troops fired at Sumy Oblast 83 times on Dec. 19. Ukrainian forces said they launched 17 strikes on enemy positions over the past day. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hit out at Iran again for providing Shahed drones to Russia. Moscow claims that it killed 130 Ukrainian servicemen and destroyed several military equipment in East Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the security services to root out “traitors, spies and saboteurs”. Vladimir Putin also said that Russia does not plan to “absorb” Belarus. US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said that Putin’s comment “has to be treated as the height of irony”. The UK Defence Ministry said the Wagner group continues to take a major role in attritional combat around Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
