The Argentine Tango (1930)

Flora Harte and Ramon Cortez the famous dancers from “Eldorado“ at the Daly’s Theatre in London perform an Argentine Tango. “The luxurious, sinuous and fascinating Tango the dance of the Argentine.“ Flora and Ramon, dressed in traditional costume, perform their Tango at the Pathe studio. The set consists of a draped curtain and some foliage. Part of the film is shot from overhead to show the movements of the dancers. C/U of the dancers’ faces - Ramon is very handsome with his slick backed hair! He twists his partner around and throws her backwards. Her leg goes straight up in the air and her skirt falls down onto the ground. Another overhead shot and another C/U as Ramon lowers Harte and leans forward over her - very sexy. More shots of the dance. Was an item in Eve’s Film Review issue 487. Safety print exists. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
