Our Space Not Ad Space

You wouldn’t want to see ads in nature, so why do we accept them in our towns and cities? Public space has become a playground for advertisers, and new research from Adfree Cities shows that there is 6 times more advertising in more deprived areas across England and Wales. At the heart of this inequality is an outdated planning system that puts all the power in the hands of advertising companies, who don’t have our best interests at heart. But we can do something about it! We can change the law to empower communities and local councils to say NO to new ads and to ensure harmful ad content isn’t shown on existing advertising sites. Head to to find out more about the issues and what you can do to help out.
