Tone Sessions: Intronaut “Sul Ponticello” – Mark Five: 25, Mark Five: 35 & Subway D-800
The guitar & bass wizards of Intronaut - (R-L) Sacha Dunable, Dave Timnick & Joe Lester - took some time out of a busy tour date to play through their tune “Sul Ponticello” from their latest album The Direction of Last Things.
Sacha was playing through one of his Dunable Yeti guitars with Slugwolf humbuckers into a Mark Five: 25 and 2x12 Rectifier Compact cabinet. Dave was playing a Dunable Yarnhark with Direwolf pickups in to a Mark Five: 35 Head and standard size 2x12 Rectifier. Joe was playing a Zon Legacy Elite 5 string fretless in the Subway D800 and a Subway Ultralite 1x12 & 1x15.
Dave & Sacha extracted classic Mark series tightness, punch & grind with only medium gain settings. Combined with their signature effects and parts layering, they accomplish an amazing sonic width with small amps that deliver tone and volume well beyond their size. Joe’s fretless baselines and the broad yet defined low-end from the Subway D-800 is the glue that fills out the wide sonic footpr
