Giovanni Guidi (1985) met Enrico Rava during a Workshop in Siena and the legendary trumpet player immediately offered his support including him in Rava New Generation project, recording two albums for L’Espresso magazine. He made his first album (Tomorrow Never Knows) in Japan, then he got signed for CAM Jazz and made four albums under that label. In 2007, he was named as the best jazz talent of Italy at the Musica Jazz magazine poll. In 2010, he performed for the first time at the Belgrade Jazz Festival as a member of Enrico Rava’s quintet and for the first time appeared on ECM label. Continuing his solo career under the wing of the most prestigious jazz record label, he released albums City of Broken Dreams (2013) and This Is The Day (2015), both in a trio context and Ida Lupino (2016) in quartet with Gianluca Petrella, named as the best album of the year by the Musica Jazz magazine.
