I’ve loved the music of Thomas Tallis (1505-1585), since singing Spem in Allium as a soprano chorister when I was nine years old!. This Renaissance masterpiece is in the Phrygian mode and was one of nine that he wrote for the Psalter of 1567 for the Archbishop of Canterbury Matthew Parker.
