I first heard the piece in a trailer for the game and was completely awestruck. The powerful, guttural style of slavic singing has always captivated me, so I wanted to give it a try myself. Are you team Triss or team Yennefer? Well, never mind choosing because we’ve got both ladies here! I had so much fun working with Erutan (katethegreat19) on my arrangement of the title theme from Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and knew she would have much to offer this song as well. Filming was done in South Carolina on the day of the total solar eclipse! How’s that for magic? We wanted to conjure up an atmosphere of sorcery using two scenes: one of Triss with her spellbook, singing up a storm, and the other of Yennefer inside a pentagram playing a supernatural violin. The lyrics are excerpted from a Polish poem by Jan Bolesław Ozog. We had an enormous amount of fun collaborating on this project.
