Without a doubt, Jaco Pastorius and Hadrien Feraud have had the greatest influence on me as far as bass playing goes. There are other names to add to the list but these two are at the very top of it. In this lesson, we’re taking a look at drawing inspiration from our favorite musicians rather than copy-pasting a phrase (note for note), which defeats the purpose of being expressive and creative. I decided to take a classic Jaco lick, morph it into something Hadrien would possibly play finally leading up to my take on the phrase. Hopefully this gives you an understanding of what can happen if you PRACTICE RIGHT.
