Composite EXR Passes with Z Depth in After Effects
Learn how to composite Open EXR Passes with Z Depth from Maya and V-Ray in After Effects in order to create a spaceship flying through fog. The plate and passes we are using are available below. This includes the beauty pass, global illumination (GI), lighting, specular, reflection, self-illumination, ambient occlusion, and z-depth. Use the Set Matte effect to use the z depth pass to create a sense of atmospheric perspective. Along the way, we’ll be using a reference to help guide our color correction.
