Experimental H rotor vertical axis wind turbine

Small vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) H is a Darrius lift type turbine. The blades are made from wood about 60cm (24inch) long and (2.5 inch) wide planed into a symmetrical airfoil section 1.2 cm thick (18%) . It drives a small home made axial flux generator. This was not really very successful. While it is rotating pretty fast in the video the narrow blades (low solidity) and relatively high inertia meant it was very slow to accelerate in the gusts and would produce very little power com
