Hundreds marched on the streets of the Syrian town of Tal Rifaat, in northern Aleppo Governorate, on Friday to condemn a potential Turkish military campaign on Syrian soil.
Protesters carried Syrian flags and pictures of Syrian President Bashar Assad as their marched on the streets of Tal Rifaat, as the Kurdish town could become the focal point of Turkey’s new threatened military operation.
“I’m telling Erdogan what do you want from us? What did we do? We are Kurds, peaceful people. We do not want anything from you except that we return to our homes in Afrin on our lands in our country. What does he want from us, what did we do to him? We are peaceful people who did nothing to him. We just want our lands, freedoms, our dignity, nothing else. We want to get rid of the mercenaries from our home so that we may return,“ said Rojayn Maamo, a protester.
