The Weird and Wonderful World of Uranus
Have you ever wondered what a Professional Astronomer does? Join us during World Space Week celebrating Women in Space 8, 9 and 10 October for a three-day livestream of the Weird and Wonderful World of Uranus. We will be remotely observing Uranus from NASA’s Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF) atop Mauna Kea, Hawaii to watch Astronomer Emma Thomas and the H3 astronomy team at work!
Observe along with the astronomers from the University of Leicester to see what discoveries might be made! Hear about the history of the search for Uranus from the Royal Astronomical Society in London and the Herschel Museum in Bath where William Herschel himself first discovered the planet with his own homemade telescope 240 years ago in 1781. We will also have special guest appearances by scientists who will join us throughout the live stream, sharing insights about the weird and wonderful world of Uranus.
