This quick tip is an introduction to Redshift Proxy files, what they are, and when I use them. They can be a great way to bake down assets you no longer need to edit, and benefit the render speed time to first pixel in heavy scenes. Additionally, I show my trick for overriding their materials, which has been a useful habit I’ve developed.
This information should apply to Redshift in other DCCs since the RS Proxy file is designed to handle translating assets between DCCs.
