Russia Increases Production Modernized Su-30SM2 Flanker-H Multirole Fighter Jets. Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation, part of state corporation Rostec has stepped up production of modernized Su-30SM2 multirole fighter jets at its Irkutsk Aviation plant. The modernization was carried out on the instructions of the Russian Ministry of Defense in order to strengthen the air force’s combat fleet, especially in its detection range and target identification capabilities. The Su-30SM2 multirole fighter jet is an aircraft that has been refined from previous editions of the Sukhoi fighter jet, because it is claimed to be the most sophisticated aircraft equipped with more advanced radar and weapons.
