’A Point in Space’ by Emma Pollock

Songwriter and singer Emma Pollock responds to Timothy Pont’s map of Scotland as part of the Neu! Treasures! commission. She discusses how she approached making new work in response to the map, time, and how this item from the past relates to the world now. In partnership with Neu! Reekie!, the National Library of Scotland commissioned artists to respond to collection items which are displayed in the Treasures exhibition. Each artist has created a new work of poetry, prose, song or film in response to their collection item. Learn more on our website: ’Treasures of the National Library of Scotland’ is a new, permanent exhibition at the National Library of Scotland on George IV Bridge, Edinburgh.
