The stunt was recorded by several spectators who posted it on several social media accounts.
There is currently no description of driver, and the Tesla was abandoned at scene. A misdemeanor hit-and-run was completed, and detectives will be following up with the renter.
Video of the traffic crash is posted on the Central Traffic Division’s YouTube account, “LAPD Central Traffic” and on Twitter account “@LAPDCTD24.”
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $1,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
