Floats by Jaako Pernu

Floats is made from the branches of pine beetle-infected forests near Merritt, in BC’s Interior. The floats suggest the rivers that connect the interior to the coast. Whole civilizations have been built on rivers. Cities depend on them. As well, the piece puts in mind the workers whose entire future depends on managing our resources in sustainable, ethical, creative ways. #9
