Jennifer Weeks: Real Talk on Life on the Strip in Surrey

“Stop taking our stuff, that’d be a good start. Then maybe let us know when there’s a city council meeting and let us speak.“ Every morning they come banging on our tents to wake us up... and then the war begins. It’s bad. We have to pack up all your stuff, try to save your stuff, your friends’ stuff, drop your tent down--I don’t get why you’ve got to drop your tent down!--... the city is not working with us at all.“ She is fed up with the mould and losing her stuff, downsizing to just one bag, lack of lockers, pneumonia, forcing all the tents onto one side of the street, and general harassment & punishment for speaking out.
